Celebrating Women, Celebrating Me

Today is the International Women’s Day, which has been observed annually since the early 1900s. Today, I prayed for the intercession of the Our Blessed Mother and other women saints to keep watch over me, especially during my practical driving test earlier.

The Virgin Mary reminded me to submit to God’s will, to ask for his blessing and yet to accept whatever it is he willed for me. Be it that I pass the test or fail again so that I would learn to work harder and persevere.

To St. Theresa of Avila, I asked for wisdom, to help me decide on turns and lane changes.

To St. Joan of Arc, for courage and peace.

Although my guardian angel is not a woman, I asked for my guidance for my hands right foot.

And yes, today, I celebrate myself. I passed the restricted driving test (After 5 takes — perseverance pays!).

Today is my day. All praise and thanks to God.
